Agua Frescas is a popular non-alcoholic drink in Mexico and the United States. It is made by blending fruits, cereals, flowers, or seeds with sugar and water. The name “Agua Frescas” means “cool waters” or “fresh waters” in Spanish. It is the perfect drink to enjoy on a sunny day. If you haven’t tried it yet, you are missing out on a refreshing experience.

This cool and refreshing drink is quick and easy to make, all it takes is the fruit, lime juice, water, and a little sugar.

If you want Aguas Frescas a little sweeter and you don’t want to add sugar try adding coconut water.

  • Blend 2 cups of fruit with 2 cups of water*, lime juice, and sugar* at high speed until smooth.
  • Strain through a medium strainer for seeds, the pulp(fiber) is beneficial. Pour into a large pitcher or bowl. Stir in the remaining 1 1/2 cups of water.
  • Refrigerate for 1 hour or longer. Fill a glass with ice, pour in the agua fresca, and serve with a sprig of mint or lime slice.

❉Tips: Want less sugar? try Stevia or a sugar substitute instead of granulated sugar. Filtered water will give Agua Fresca a better taste
