Ingredients in This Salsa
TOMATOES: I use Roma (plum) tomatoes, they are small, slender, and firm, they contain few seeds, and are easy to cut without making a mess. (I remove any seeds and pulp if you use a different type of tomato)
ONIONS: White or Red onions are the best choices for Pico de Gallo.
CILANTRO: *Cilantro, chopped…you can add more to your taste.
CHILE PEPPERS: I use *serrano for this recipe, but jalapeños can be substituted.
LIME: 1 lime puts out about 2 tablespoons of juice
OLIVE OIL: Extra virgin olive oil
| *Not a fan of cilantro…you can replace it with diced green onions or diced green or yellow bell pepper. *Not a fan of spicy…try canned diced green chiles (4 oz.)…taste of peppers with no spiciness. |
