Homemade Mexican Smoked Chile Marinade

Ingredients
  

  • 2 canned chipotle chiles in adobo stemmed, plus 1 teaspoon of sauce from the can
  • 6 oz. juice of fresh oranges
  • 2 oz. juice of limes
  • 1 tbsp. minced garlic
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. oregano crushed
  • 1 tsp. black pepper
  • 2 tbsp. red wine vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cumin

Instructions
 

  • Combine all ingredients in the blender, and puree until smooth.
  • Makes enough marinade for 2 pounds of steak or chicken. Place meat and marinade in a bowl to marinate for 2 to 4 hours.
