Homemade Mexican Smoked Chile Marinade

The smokiness of the chipotles in the marinade brings steaks, chicken, and seafood to a smoky, spicy, sweet rich flavor in every bite.

- 2 canned chipotle chiles in adobo stemmed, plus 1 teaspoon of sauce from the can
- 6 oz. juice of fresh oranges
- 2 oz. juice of limes
- 1 tbsp. minced garlic
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. oregano crushed
- 1 tsp. black pepper
- 2 tbsp. red wine vinegar
- 1/2 tsp. ground cumin
Combine all ingredients in the blender, and puree until smooth.
Makes enough marinade for 2 pounds of steak or chicken. Place meat and marinade in a bowl to marinate for 2 to 4 hours.
