Spices: Cumin, Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, Cayenne, Paprika, Chili Powder, Salt, Sugar, Mexican Oregano

Liquids: Vinegar, Water, Tomato sauce

Making Homemade Taco Sauce

  • Place all ingredients in a saucepan, and whisk together.
  • Bring to a light boil then lower heat to a simmer for 10 minutes on medium-low heat. 
  • Allow to cool, and place in an airtight container or bottle.

Storing Taco Sauce

  • Good in the fridge for up to one week.
  • Taco sauce can also be frozen in an airtight container…good for 2 months.

  • 2 cans 8 oz. of tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon chile powder
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1-1/2 teaspoon Mexican Oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne
  • 1/2 tsp salt to taste
  • 1 cup water

Instructions
 

  • Place all ingredients in a saucepan, and whisk together. Bring to a light boil then lower heat to a simmer for 10 minutes on medium-low heat.
  • Allow cooling before serving.
  • Taco sauce is good in the fridge for up to 5-7 days in an airtight container. The sauce can also be frozen for future use.
